Summer School 2025
Analog Portrait Photography
This summer I’m opening the doors of my daylight studio in Utrecht for the very first edition of the Summer School. Over the course of one week, you’ll learn all the essential aspects of analog portrait photography and further develop your skills as a portrait photographer. From directing your subject and working with natural light to developing your own film and creating high-resolution scans — everything is covered.
This is not just about technique; it’s also about growing creatively in an inspiring setting, together with a small group of like-minded photography enthusiasts. Over five days, we’ll go through the full process: from preparing a shoot and photographing, to developing, scanning, and editing the portraits. I’ll be there throughout the week for guidance, personal feedback, and support.
You’ll learn new skills each day and by the end of the week you’ll go home with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a renewed sense of inspiration. We’ll end the week with a review of the work you created, followed by a drink to celebrate your results.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for any photographer excited about analog portrait photography and eager to learn more. You don’t need to be a professional, but it’s important that you know how to operate your analog camera and have experience shooting with it. Basic knowledge of editing software such as Lightroom or Photoshop is required.
